My name is Andre

Posted March 23, 2010 by Andre in Malaysia

My name is André, I'm going on exchange to the Swinburne Sarawak campus at the end of February. For the past few months I've been thinking, "its not that close, plenty of time" but now that its less than a month's time away, its feels like I'm running out of time to organise things.

Greetings from the USA!

Posted March 23, 2010 by Georgina in the USA

My trip started extremely early in the morning with a 6am flight to Sydney in preparation for my international departure to LA later that day. I was lucky enough to have a whole row in economy all to myself so I could lie down and sleep during the flight, which resulted in me not feeling one bit of jetlag at all when I arrived in LA or in the days that followed.

So today marks my first week in Japan

Posted March 23, 2010 by Lucretia in Japan

So today marks my first week in Japan and, not to sound cliché or anything, it has flown by.

Stepping off the plane and making my way to the Kansai Gaidai University Seminar Houses I couldn?t help but be relieved to have some Japanese under my belt, rest assured pointing at maps and a friendly smile probably would have got me here nonetheless.  Transport here is a whole different experience to back home, unusually silent, heated chairs that are moveable to suit the individual passengers? preferred position, on time?definitely not Connex.

Viva Chile!

Posted June 10, 2009 by Julio in Chile

The last couple of months have been so eventful that to write it down and summarise is the biggest challenge I can think of at the moment. I am now half way through my exchange program and I just want to do as much as I can right now. Meet more people travel to new destinations and learn more about this incredible nation.

For those reading this blog and thinking if they should do exchange or not, let me encourage you to go for it because you learn so much about life itself, about yourself and a whole new culture. It's life changing, just go for it!

Making the most of every minute

Posted May 07, 2009 by Bolace in Malaysia

Mid-semester break? The options were endless for mid-semester break and I didn't need to decide where to go - why not go everywhere?

My mid-semester break turned into three weeks back and forth of travel and not one minute was wasted. The first destination was Singapore where I had the busiest four days. The highlight would have to be the night safari at the zoo but the winner was being able to go shark diving at the Singapore aquarium...

Guten Tag Nochmal!

Posted December 19, 2008 by Georgia in Germany

Sadly this is this last entry from me here in Germany. I have actually just written to the coordinators at Swinburne to see whether I can extend my stay for an extra semester, I am having the time of my life here both academically and socially... And subsequently am not ready to come home yet!

So it is progressively getting colder and colder here in Europe. Two weeks ago we had the first snow in Mainz. It was a downpour on a Sunday night and I was coming back from Ice Skating with a couple of friends and before I knew it we were taking off our skates in the snow!

Nostalgia incarnate

Posted December 18, 2008 by Louisa in France

I am basically the embodiment of nostalgia. One semester abroad has passed so quickly, it is crazy. I have absolutely loved my time in France.

My language skills have improved dramatically (although I am still very far off being fluent), I have met so many beautiful people, done incredibly fun things and travelled so much. However, at the same time I cannot wait to return home and see my family and friends.

It was a very good year...

Posted December 17, 2008 by Margs in Finland

This Autumn term has flown by particularly fast, only three more weeks left and yet so much to do. I start a new workshop next week so who knows when I'll have time to finish up my other projects. Not including completing my 3D character, studying for my Finnish exam, preparing for a TV studio filming day, preparing work for the bi-annual Demo Day, packing my bags, selling my bike and oh yes, Christmas shopping... hmm, maybe Hong Kong airport? I'm sure my family would love that!

One last time

Posted December 16, 2008 by Brenton in Mexico

My time here at Tec de Monterrey University in Mexico has come to an end. Today I sat my final exam here and tomorrow I move to Mexico City to begin my two months travelling.

It has been an exciting and extremely busy semester both academically and socially. Quite remarkable to think that it has only been 4 months when it feels like we have built a whole life here. The friends we've made and having great memories puts a smile on my face...
