What are those survey panels inside the doorway of the Library?

Posted September 19, 2011 in category General by Rebecca Parker

You may have noticed that from time to time we have a panel inside the doorway of each campus library: we pose a question, and you can 'vote' for the answer that suits you best. For example, if you were in the Library last week, you were asked to press a button to indicate whether you are a Higher Education or TAFE student; academic; or other Library user group.

These panels provide the Library with useful information about you and what you need from us. Recently we asked you to tell us how you prefer to access the internet in the Library. Here's what you said:

Combined campus responses: preferred method of accessing the internet in the Library

This is interesting to compare with some earlier surveys:

  • we asked in 2010 if you brought your own laptop to study on campus (62% of you said you sometimes or usually do)
  • we asked in April 2011 if you carry a mobile device that can access the internet (81% of you said you do)

If you're having trouble accessing the Swinburne wireless network on your own laptop or mobile device, you can always talk to our very helpful Rovers.

And please, keep those answers rolling in!
