Sandra's 3rd entry - Surfing on sand and water

Posted April 10, 2007 in category Sandra from Mexico

Swinburne Exchange Student Sandra surfing with friends at Kangaroo IslandSurf is one of the most popular sports here in Australia. There is a place in Queensland called Surfers Paradise... although I think that that name is suitable for the whole country as it really has great beaches ideal for this water sport!!!

Since I've been here I have practiced extreme sports that I never tried before! As I recently wrote, I was more than happy when I stood up in the wakeboard! And now I had the opportunity to SURF!!! The first time I tried that was in Byron Bay a couple of months ago, in January... I received my first lesson so I looked for friendly waves that would let me discover my abilities! Although I felt hundreds of times it was absolutely good fun!!

I had never waterski or wakeboard before but that wasn?t a problem because the committee members were excellent instructors and I managed to stand up!!!
