Destination Swinburne

With everything in life there must be balance. Through this study abroad experience there has been a lot of work and play. Right before Easter Break I had two presentations, a paper, and an exam. So for break I made sure I had a lot of adventure and fun coming my way...

If someone asked what my idea of Melbourne is so far, I would reply just mentioning visual experiences: it is easy to forget details and names but pictures stay in your mind forever. The sun setting down the city will surely be one of them, cycling along the Yarra another one.

Even though Nascar is popular in the US I had never been to anything of the sort. So this was my first racing experience and it was definitely one to remember.

 These first two weeks in Australia have felt more like a vacation than studying abroad.  But, now that I've arrived at Melbourne after yet another flight, my journey as a Study Abroad student begins...

Enschede - Melbourne

Hi everybody, I am Pieter van Elderen and I am an exchange student from the Netherlands.  I'm coming from Enschede and study at the University of Twente. I arrived at the 16th of February after a long 28 hour flight, ready for the adventure here in Australia.......

During the spring break my parents and sister came from the States.

We went to Victoria Market, Melbourne Zoo and wine barrel tasting and a private tour in Southern Australia at Brand's Laira in Coonawara region . . .

What an awesome 8 weeks I experienced in Melbourne!! I'm Johnson Woan from Malaysia and I am currently undertaking my third year second semester in a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. I am doing a Student Exchange Program with Swinburne Sarawak Campus (Malaysia) for this semester. Truly, I am not regretting of doing this Student Exchange Program! *wink*

Hey, how's it going? I have just finished my 1st semester at Swinburne. Now I have 2 exams and a term paper in June. I can't believe over 3 months have passed already!

What I did in May was firstly studying! Before my first presentation in Australia, I got so nervous and actually can't even remember what I said, but it was the best academic experience for me this semester!

During the week, I studied hard and had fun on every weekend. I was at an AFL game, two big crazy parties - a pyjama party and a costume party - and on a trip to Phillip Island which was much colder than I expected.
